Hi to all , and the thief on the cross is saying some very interesting things .
1) Most recognize that there is no water Baptism here and that proves that water does not save .
2) Salvation has always been by FAITH as Hewbrews 11 , says by believeing what God commands at that point in time , like Moses, Noah and the like .
3) But I believe that by the thiefs answers that he is a Jew and some say that there were actually 4 that were crucfied with Christ and not just 2 .
4) First , we know that he believed in God , Luke 23:40 .
5) Secondly , he believed in a bodily Resurrection of the DEAD , for he spoke to the Lord about " me " and " thou " and their life after death , Luke 23:42 .
6) Thirdly , his words " remember me when THOU COMEST into thy Kingdom , Luke 23:42 prove that he believed in the Second Coming . So that probably , means that he was familiar with the Lord's teaching , that would be true of a Jew .
7) Fourth , he knew that the Lord would have a " Kingdom " , Luke 23:42 , again suggesting that the malefactor was already familiar with His teaching .
A Gentiles would NOT be familiar with Israel's hope .
9) There are NO Christians here and it is Jews only , nor is the Body of Christ seen at this point in time .
10) The Body of Christ is not yet seen and it will not be seen until the Apostle of Grace reveals that their is ONE .
